Diffusers in the home office - Working from home in NZ

In recent times, more and more of us are working from home. Whether it be because of improved efficiency or social distancing requirements, it has somewhat become part of the new normal here in New Zealand. Speaking to different individuals, we have found that some are finding it difficult to focus on their work and projects in their home offices. We thought, why not try out your aromatherapy diffuser in your new workspace? Using diffusers and essential oils is a great natural way to boost energy levels and a great way to cut back on the extra cups of coffee during the late afternoons and evenings. Here’s a quick note on how you can get started!

If you have a diffuser at home or at your office and you’re struggling to focus on work or projects, it might be a good idea to diffuse some essential oils during the day to maintain focus levels and aid concentration. There are many essential oils that can be diffused to help freshen and purify the air. The most common essential oils that can be used to improve focus are citrus essential oils such as Mandarin, Lemon and Bergamot; and of course, the ever-versatile Lavender and Peppermint essential oils as well. The citrus oils are known for their sharp, fruity and fresh scent while the peppermint oil is known for its strong minty bursts. Lavender is the gold standard and an all-rounder that helps with calming and focus. You can’t focus when you’re not calm right?  We recommend 4-6 drops of essential oil per 100ml of water in your ultrasonic diffuser; however, this can be increased slightly depending on the individual’s needs and the size of your home or office. You don’t want the concentration too high as it can be too potent and clog up your ultrasonic diffuser. Make sure to clean your diffuser well and frequently to increase its longevity.

There are many different essential oil blends that can be formed and used in your diffuser. Even with the citrus oils and peppermint, you can mix and match different combinations and concentrations. Please note when using any essential oils:
Keep out of reach of children. Any essential oil may cause skin sensitivity. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician first. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. Happy diffusing!
